An absolute classic excerpt from another one of Red Ring’s most legendary story arcs: 2010’s “Gamer Nation” arc. Shawn’s story of creating his own nation of Gamers, free of the persecution of the noobs, normies and nooblords of the so-called “United States of America,” resonated deeply with the Red Ring fanbase and led diehard fans to declare themselves “Citizens of Gamer Nation.” 

For anyone not aware, film critic Roger Ebert had been vocal about not considering video games an art form in several interviews around this time. Despite the attempts of many valiant gamers to make him see the light, he only doubled down on his foolish belief. Shawn was right to do what he did, here.

And before you ask: no, we will not be publishing the strip Shawn made immediately after Mr. Ebert’s death. You know damn well why. Drop it.
