The Official Archives of Red Ring of Death, the most influential gaming webcomic of 2006, written and created by Shawn Tuckley.
The first of a series of autobiographical strips chronicling Shawn’s trip to a comics convention, and a fascinating peek into Shawn’s daily life! So excited to share these with you all!!
The first time readers truly got a look into Shawn’s day to day life, this is a real treat!
Important historical note: this is the first, and not the last, instance of Shawn expressing his hatred for fellow cartoonist and Nippon Ultra author Bill “Leetko” Callahan. Great to see Shawn unafraid to express himself!
Shawn really did not have a pleasant experience sitting next to Mr. Callahan, which would lead him to some personal issues later in life. Still fun to see his typical acidic wit!
Shawn certainly met a lot of resistance to his bold & innovative gaming comics, but he always knew how to handle it! Hilarious!
Shawn certainly had to deal with a lot of zealous fans at cons, and as a longtime fan myself I love to be playfully ribbed! Hilarious stuff from Shawn!
Despite Tracie Collins vehemently claiming this exchange never occurred, and the personal issues Shawn seemed to be dealing with, still a very entertaining look into Shawn’s life!
Shawn takes another swipe at fellow cartoonist Ricky Stephenson, but I think he’s pretty justified here! Awesome work here, Shawn!
As the con draws to a close, Shawn enters a contemplative state. Some of his very best writing here!
The last comic in Shawn’s autobio arc about Comixcon 2006. What a ride its been! (Despite Shawn’s note at the end, he would not be invited back to Comixcon in 2007 or any other year.)
